Kylie Minogue's latest album to be released exclusively on Nokia's Music Store

Kylie Minogue, who is now calling herself Kylie apparently, typing your last name does eat up a lot of time, will be releasing her album onto the Nokia Music Store on November 21; way before releasing it on antiquated round plastic things. Curiously I wondered if it managed to leak and find its way onto the internet, I can confirm that yes it did, all 26 tracks at a whopping 180 MB.

Hack the planet.

Orange recalls the first shipment of Sony Ericsson W910i phones?

Softpadia is claiming that the France Telecom owned mobile operator is recalling the first shipment of Sony Ericsson W910i phones.
Orange customers are experiencing problems with their newly bought Sony Ericsson W910i phones. Apparently, the device has some serious problems with the basic phone functionality which results in switching off after ten seconds and not answering the calls. Unsatisfied customers are returning them to Orange at a great rate, and the carrier is offering them a new mobile phone instead of the faulty one. Still that doesn’t seem to help, as many of them returned just a few days later complaining that the new device has the same problems. It would be a shame for Sony Ericsson to blew this off — after all, many people eagerly expected the release of the W910i Walkman and now when it’s available they want the smooth user experience.

Sony Ericsson K850i now available on Vodafone UK; Nokia N81, 6500 classic coming soon

Vodafone’s coming soon page reveals their potential and existing users can already get Sony Ericsson’s latest Cyber-shot phone - K850i. In addition, we see two Nokia devices there — Nokia 6500 classic, the stylish candybar feature phone; but also the N81, NGage’s flagship device. Finally, let’s not forget the Sony Ericsson W910i which is also coming as part of the carrier’s Christmas collection.
Vodafone will certainly have something for everyone. Still we can’t wait for O2’s first iPhone numbers and see how that compares with Vodafone’s sales…

Mobile deals force juggling act

MOBILE phones are for making telephone calls and sending and receiving text messages on the move, right? Well, actually, they're also for checking email, listening to music, accessing the internet, taking and sharing photos and even watching television and video clips.

More and more handsets are coming with high-res multimedia displays that make watching telly on the small screen at least bearable, and occasionally compelling.

You can fill idle time by checking the television news or weather, chortling over The Chasers or made-for-mobile sitcoms, catching a few overs of the cricket or a lap or two of the V8 Supercars, running through a few movie trailers or downloading maps and directions.

But here's the rub: Australia's mobile networks such as Telstra, Hutchison and Vodafone, are stifling innovation by restricting access to multimedia content.

Doubleclick agrees. Take sport, for instance. If you want to watch the rugby, you need to sign up with Vodafone. If it's Test cricket you want to see, you need a Hutchison 3 handset and subscription. source:http://www.australianit.news.com.au/story/0,24897,22744845-39525,00.html
